After completing three massively successful and critically acclaimed techno albums, MOTOR have shifted gears and recorded a song- based vocal album. The album features Martin L. Gore (Depeche Mode), Gary Numan, Billie Ray Martin (S' Express, Electribe 101) and Motown's rising new star,Reni Lane.
MOTOR are considered to have one of the most explosive, entertaining live shows in dance music and for the new album, MOTOR will develop a new show which will combine the energy of previous tours, with a bigger visual and audio production to compliment the powerful new vocal-based songs.
Touring Highlights:
MOTOR play club shows and festivals regularly all over the World. In between club tours, MOTOR have traditionally toured with other major acts (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Nitzer Ebb, etc)
2010 - Toured as main support for Gary Numan’s sold out ‘Pleasure Principal US tour’
2009 - Toured as main support for Depeche Mode's sold-out Tour of The Universe. playing exclusively open-air stadiums. MOTOR were one of the best received support acts DM have ever had.
2009 - Official MOTOR t-shirt for the Depeche Mode tour was designed and manufactured by the designer RAF SIMONS (men's designer of the year 2000, 2004, 2008). Kanye West quickly put the MOTOR/Raf Simons collaboration on his website and became a fan of the band.
2009 - During the Tour of The Universe with Depeche Mode, when singer Dave Gahan fell ill and eleven shows were re-scheduled, MOTOR flew to Berlin and wrote a majority of their new album. One of these songs, 'Man Made Machine' was given to Martin L. Gore of DM, who quickly fell in love with the song and recorded the lead vocals in his home studio in Santa Barbara, California at the end of the European leg of the tour.
2009 - Remixed Kanye West. The remix debuted on Kanye West's Blog and was also one of the most downloaded mixes from RCRDLBL.com
'Death Rave' award nomination:
2009 - single 'Death Rave' from MOTOR's last album 'Metal Machine' becomes a major hit among electro and techno djs. DJ Steve Aoki, quickly licenses the album onto his label DIM MAK (Fischerspooner, Bloody Beatroots, MSTRKRFT,Will.I.Am).
'Death Rave' was nominated as best club/dance floor song of 2009 at the Qwartz Awards in France.
