Lovefoxxx returns to Asia on the way back from Australia tour for an exclusive two weeks of Asian touring. We expect demand to be high for this half Japanese / Brazilian Wunderkund so please send requests early!
Who is lovefoxxx? Lovefoxxx, aka Luisa Hanae Matsushita, is the Brazilian-Japanese lead vocalist and rising star of the electro-rock band Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS). On tour since the release of their low-budget debut album in 2005, they became a surprise hit last summer and played every important festival, winning more plaudits with each show.
CSS are like Sonic Youth mixed with generous helpings of Kylie. Their popularity with kids and grown-ups alike could have something to do with the fact that every gig is a party. They don’t so much straddle as vault cultural and geographical boundaries. Lovefoxxx, 23, sings in English as opposed to her native Portuguese, and their song titles – such as Meeting Paris Hilton and Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above – make clear their fondness for glorifying pop culture!
